My son is building an ebike for daily use. College commute, local shopping and weekend rides in groups.
He is insisting on having 6 x 36v 4.8ah battery packs. His logic is that he does not need 28.8ah all the time. Why carry the load? He wants to design the ebike in such a way that there is space for all 6 but should be able to choose how many he wants fixed on the cycle at any trip.
What are the disadvantages of such an arrangement and what are the advantages apart from not carrying the extra weight when not required.
Please advise.

i dont know ur motor power and controller peak current. considering 250w i suggest always running atleast two packs in parallel . all packs should be of same voltage when connecting together .
